And the whole theme of robots wanting/trying to be human has always fascinated me. I've always been a fan of rock and more "edgy" music styles so that coupled with Daft Punk's electronic sound really energizes me. I do feel that HAA gets it's fair share of love in this fandom, even if more mainstream audiences weren't crazy for it, but yeah it's probably tied with RAM for my favorite album. It's also hard for me to communicate what I'm thinking and how I'm feeling to others and I feel my needs and emotions are often misinterpreted, so the lines "There are so many things that I don't understand/There's a world within me that I cannot explain" just really hit home for me. I've always kind of struggled with my identity, mostly in terms of who I am and where I belong, and if what I'm currently striving for will ever actually amount to anything. Within is definitely one of my favorites, especially in terms of lyrics, probably because it resonates with me often. It's definitely one of my favorite Discovery songs and I wish I could have known about it at some of the low points in my life. Very interesting, especially your feelings toward Face To Face. I'm going to stop there, because like I said, pretty much the entirety of DP's discography gets to me. It's a fantastic album about humanity and otherness (and how one copes with being "Other"(ed)). The entirety of Human After All also generally resonates with me in a way that it doesn't seem to for a lot of people. The final line of "Beyond" ("it is the birthplace of your dreams") is really beautiful, too. The whole "sad robot" thing was kind of new to me, and it got to me hard _ "Within" was one of the first songs I heard from DP, so there's a lot that sticks out there, too-especially "(Where are the locks to try the key)" and "(And I wonder why.)". It was kind of like getting the apology I'm never going to get. Hearing lines like "it's not your fault/I was being too demanding" and "I realized you weren't wrong/it was a mere illusion" was really therapeutic for me. When I first "discovered" DP, I was relatively fresh out of a bad, traumatic experience.

"Face to Face" deserves special mention, though.
